5 Reasons why you should be using video to sell your products and services

If you have not started to use video as part of your marketing strategy time has not (quite) run out. By 2019, internet video traffic will account for 80% of all consumer Internet traffic! Clearly the majority of consumers prefer video content to reading and there are so many advantages to using video marketing to reach your audience that there really is no excuse!

It can be repurposed to be used on websites (people stay on the site for longer), in email marketing campaigns (video increases open rates by 300%), on social media (video gets you more likes, views and shares).

It can be spread virally on the Internet, getting millions of views. You can multiply the chance of showing up first on Google if you have a video embedded on your website…and….90% of consumers watch video on their mobile phones, so making a video is literally placing your products and services in your potential customers’ hands.

Adding a product video on your landing page can increase conversions by 80%. Furthermore, 74% of users who watch an explainer-video about a product go on to buy it. Video can be optimised for SEO with relevant, interesting titles and descriptions. If you add links back to your website, products and services, potential customers are given a path to purchase.

4. Videos build trust and add authenticity.

Filming explainer videos for a new product is very effective as a sales tool as a majority of consumers say that videos give them more confidence to purchase online. Trust can also be built via “educational” videos which foster relationship and provide interesting and useful information. A majority of users say they would share a branded video with their friends if it was entertaining, so it makes sense to be creative and present content in an appealing fashion.
