Cushion the blow – Insurance policies especially for crafts people, craft companies and craft clubs in the UK
We worked with Craft Insurance to rebrand and modernise them to win new clients. They wanted to add value to existing ones and reawaken a dormant database that they hadn’t really maximised on. Craft wanted to do more and with the recent pandemic challenges they decided to actively reach out and help others.
Many of the ‘crafters’ were faced with having to close retail units, shops and spaces. However, making a transition to an online mode of operating seemed daunting, though necessary. With the pressure of diminishing income and the uncertainty surrounding the future of high street retail they needed help and they needed help fast.
Working with Cre8ion we decided to launch a Facebook group to support and emailed people on the database to come and join it. The focus was to enrol everyone on a 5 day challenge which would involve 1 hour of teaching per day and show crafters how to take their business online. Or, if they had already done so, they would be shown how to improve their offering. The Craft Insurance Challenge was born and we covered everything from platforms to photography, content to dealing with complaints. At the end of the week we then offered them the opportunity to renew or sign up for their specialist insurance.
We worked with the team to write the course and then supported them with tech, behind the scenes, allowing them to Zoom in LIVE to their growing group. With nearly 600 people in the group the impact was incredible and the group even started a drinks evening after the challenge finished. It proved to be one of their most successful marketing campaigns and left them with a thriving craft community that they could communicate with and help regularly.
The crisis caused by COVID was not catastrophic for the crafters because Craft Insurance supported hundreds of businesses to learn how to meet the crisis better.
